The Roden Smith name goes back to 1946, when two men (Smith and Roden) bought a drug store that Smith was managing and renamed it Roden Smith. The original site was at 400 Main Street in downtown Clovis. This store carried the major cosmetic and fragrance lines, fine cigars, a 50 seat soda fountain and of course was Clovis’ prescription headquarters. Bruce and Pamela Gray bought and began operation of this store on February 1, 1972.

We moved the store from a dying downtown in 1978 to a strip center location at 2200 N. Main St (Hilltop Plaza Shopping Center). We continued to add to our gift lines and eventually included a PARTY STORE, a HALLMARK CARD SHOP, COLLECTIBLES and BRIDAL REGISTRY in the expanded 8,400 sq ft store. We moved into a new 20,000 sq ft building on Llano Estacado Blvd in November of 1999.

The Pharmacy is now owned by David Lansford, and leases 2,000 sq ft in our new location. We have further expanded our merchandise mix to include furniture and decorative accessories. We continue to be the premier shopping destination in Clovis, New Mexico!

Our service area covers Clovis, Portales, Ft. Sumner, Melrose, Tucumcari, Cannon Air Force Base, Texico, Logan, Arch, Causey, Dora, Elida, Floyd, Milnesand, Grady, Roy, and San Jon in New Mexico. In Texas, Oklahoma Lane, Muleshoe, Hereford, Bovina, Farwell, Friona, and Lazbuddie.
